Kai dropped his heavy military bag on the gravel of the road that ran above the grounds of camp Owtaluk. the camp looked as if it hadn't been updated, painted, washed, or even lived in for almost ten years. Some of the paint on the cabins had peeled off and all the shingled roofs had signs of moss. closing the tail-gate of his black pick up truck, Kai walked towards the building that he assumed to be the camp office. He half guessed because it was the first building he saw on the gravel road, and he seen a small wooden sign that looked like it had been painted by a seven year old who couldn't decide what color to use, and then had a seisure and spilled random bits of paint on it.
Knocking on bright red door, kai stood outside looking at a huge box beside the door marked 'archery'. the box did not contain anything pertaining to archery, it mostly held old clothes, and a few oily car parts.Kai turned back towards the door as a man whipped it open, his seven foot build ducking under the doorway. the man was very tall and ridiculously skinny, his obviously dyed red hair hung out from underneath his fishing hat. the man's top shirt buttons were open revealing four grey chest hairs. the shirt would have been fine looking shirt if not for the 317 stains that covered the hawaiin pattern. he wore faded cutoffs that were being held up by a shoe string from his hiking boot. his hairy legs were exposed showing the several scars he had gotten over the course of his seventy three years of life. he wore mixed matching socks and hiking boots.
"I"m Kai Matthews." the man's eyes widened, and he reached for the door.
"Sorry whatever your selling i'm not buying!" and with that, he slammed the door. Kai stood there not sure what to do, did he knock again, did he just go look around camp. After several minutes, Kai knocked a second time on the door. the man opened the door again, this time wearing only one boot and a lime green shirt that said Camp Owtaluk:adventure island in pirate looking font with a picture of a island probably found in a children's book from the 1930s.
"Hi, i got a call from you." Kai stood waiting for his speech to get cut off, "i'm up here as a cabin leader. My name is Kai Matthews."
"Kai!!! Welcome to camp Owtaluk!" He yelled, "I'm Albert Halbert, I'm the camp director, and your new friend." Kai tried not to laugh and just shook his hand. "You're going to love it here! follow me i'll show you the camp!" Albert lead Kai down onto the grounds of the camp, "There we have the dining hall, there's the fire pit, the general store, staff room, and utilities and craft shed is down that road. And here are all the cabins." Matt looked at the ten cabins surrounding a central washroom. "There we got the block washrooms, and here's your cabin: Thunder." Albert pointed to a small wooden building that had been a dark blue color when it was new but had faded to more of a lighter blue, with sections were the paint had peeled back revealing a coat of ugly green paint. "Well have fun!" Albert walked away, leaving Kai standing in front of his new home. Placing his duffel bag on the porch, and opened the door Kai was hit by a draft of stagnate air. Turning around Kai saw a girl walking up, her wavy dark brown hair falling over the shoulders of her blue transformers tee. finally getting the courage to talk to her, Kai walked up to talk to her. As he did she tripped on a root, her two duffel bags flying into the air.
"You alright!" Kai said running to help her up.
"Yeah all be fine." Her icy blue eyes catching his.
"Hey I'm Kai!" Kai said picking up one of her duffel bags.
"Hey, I'm Madison."
